Still burning, 50 fire units are working to put out the fire at Bangabazar

Firefighters are attempting to put out the massive fire that started at the Bangabazar market in Dhaka this morning, but it is still raging.

At the time this report was submitted around 9:30 am, 48 firefighting units had already arrived at the scene and were working to put out the fire.

According to Anwarul Islam, a warehouse inspector at the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters, the fire started at the market around 6:10 am and quickly spread.
The cause of the fire, however, was not immediately apparent.

According to ISPR, an army team has arrived at the scene and is attempting to put out the flame.

In addition, the Bangladesh Air Force is using a helicopter to put out the fire.

To put out the fire at the Bangabazar market, teams from the Bangladesh Navy and BGB also contributed.

One of the largest markets in the nation, Bangabazar, is home to clothing stores made of tin and wood in its maze-like layout.
