Dwayne Johnson has revealed that a live-action remake of ‘Moana’ is in the works

Walt Disney Company (DIS.N) is developing a live-action version of its animated film hit “Moana,” star Dwayne Johnson announced on Monday at the company’s annual shareholder meeting.

“Moana” is set in ancient Polynesia and tells the story of a teenage girl who embarks on an epic journey to aid in the rescue of her tribe.

The animated version was released in 2016 and grossed nearly $683 million worldwide.
