The ruling Awami League (AL) has started distributing nomination forms on Sunday for the five city corporations elections.
The nomination-aspirants will be able to collect application forms and submit those between 11am and 4pm every day till April 12 at AL president Sheikh Hasina’s political office in the city’s Dhanmondi area.As per the Election Commission’s (EC) schedule, Gazipur City Corporation polls will be held on May 25, Khulna and Barishal City Corporations on June 12 and Rajshahi and Sylhet City Corporations polls will be held on June 21.
The nomination forms are also being distributed for the chairman post of Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh district and mayoral posts in five municipalities (Pourasava)-Cox’s Bazar Sadar, Araihazar of Narayanganj, Gopaldi, Talora of Bogura and Basail of Tangail.
Nomination seekers must carry a photocopy of their national identity cards for collecting application forms.
The application form must be collected and submitted by the candidate himself/herself or through a qualified representative of the candidate concerned by 4pm on April 12.
