Airport in Dhaka seizes gold worth Tk 1 billion

Ten gold bars worth Tk 1 crore were confiscated by members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Monday at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), according to UNB.

In a garbage close to the No. 5 luggage belt area of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today midday, two suspicious things wrapped in black scotch tape were discovered, according to Mohammad Ziaul Haque, additional superintendent of Airport Armed Police Battalion police.

Later, he continued, “We discovered 10 gold bars from there, each measuring 1.160 kg.


According to the ASP, the confiscated gold bars were placed in the customs storage.
