Covered van hits a bike in Lalbagh, killing an NSU student

A student of North South University (NSU) was killed as a covered van rammed a ride sharing bike at Lalbagh in the capital on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Sanjida Akter, 27, hailed from Sonaimuri village of Noakhali.Sanjida living in Kamrangirchar was killed in front of Lalbagh Shahin Garments around 10pm while she was going home by a ride sharing with Ubar moto.

Police seized the covered van but the driver of the van fled the spot after the incident.

Meanwhile, the driver of motorcycle was arrested for interrogation.

Aktar Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Lalbagh Police Station, said police found Sanjida lying with bloody condition in front of the garments and sent her to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where she was declared dead at 12 am.

Sanjida was going to Kamrangirchar by the bike ride from Dhanmondi at night,

Reaching Lalbagh, the covered van hit the bike, leaving Sanjida severely injured.
