47 units are battling a large fire at Bangabazar

This morning, a sizable fire broke out at Bangabazar Market in the capital.
A total of 47 firefighting units are battling the blaze.


The fire was reported at Bangabazar market at 6:10 am, according to Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defense control room, who confirmed the incident.

He added that no casualties have been reported thus far and that it was not possible to determine the cause of the fire right away.

Owners and staff members of the market’s shops reportedly rushed to the scene as soon as they learned of the fire, according to eyewitnesses.

Many were observed moving goods to secure locations after removing them from their stores.
