Extended meeting of the Jatiya Party held

On Thursday, the central executive committee of the main opposition in parliament, the Jatiya Party, held an extended meeting to discuss the party’s next steps.

The meeting, presided over by party chairman GM Quader, was held at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital’s Ramna district. The meeting began around noon and was followed by iftar.

Mujibul Haque Chunnu, secretary general of the Jatiya Party, presided over the meeting, which was also attended by members of the party’s presidium and lawmakers.
According to meeting sources, the meeting discussed the party’s next course of action, participation in the next parliament election, and the party’s possible political strategy ahead of the parliamentary polls.

According to meeting sources, the majority of the leaders planned to run in the next general election on their own, without joining any alliance.

According to Jatiya Party sources, Raushon Ershad, the party’s chief patron, and her fellow leaders did not attend the meeting.
